We are delighted to announce a new partnership with The Boys’ & Girls’ Brigade British Marching Band Championships.

This partnership will allow the Brigades’ Championships to be an official BYBA qualifying contest. It will use the new BYBA judging system so any participating Brigade Band will be awarded BYBA league points and will only have to participate in one other BYBA contest to qualify for the British Youth Band Associations National Championships.

Showcase organiser Ray Westwood said "The Showcase Committee see this as a positive endorsement by the British Youth Band Association for our Brigade Championships which is sponsorship by the 13th Bromley Boys’ Brigade / Pacemakers Drum & Bugle Corps.
It's an important development opportunity not to be missed, even if you have never participated in a BYBA contest before."

Clive Burd - BYBA Chair of Contesting, added, "I'm really excited for BYBA to have the opportunity to work with the Brigade's and I'm looking forward to building on the partnership in the coming years. Our judging system caters for bands of all styles, sizes and ages, and Brigade bands have always done very well"

At BYBA we make it easy for new bands to take part, with the membership fee waived for the first year and mentoring available for leaders and instructors. We offer a full programme of training, and this year we have a webinar on what the judges are looking for and how to get the most from critique – booking for that will open soon.
