As you are aware via our recent website post, since the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) BYBA has been monitoring the situation since the start of the outbreak. Over the past 72 hours, the situation has significantly changed with guidance being sent to member organisations that they should suspend all activities. Taking advice and guidance from the Government, NHS & Public Health England and with restrictions on events, gatherings and due to the uncertainty of the escalation of the virus combined with the cancellation of many sporting, cultural and like-minded activities throughout the United Kingdom, the BYBA Council have held in-depth discussions and have come to the decision to CANCEL all shows, training events and face to face meetings scheduled within the first half of the season. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates in regards to the second half of the season, should these become necessary.

The decision made was a difficult one and not something that has been taken lightly. Never within our history has our activity been faced with a more challenging and potentially life-threatening situation and our priority has to be the continued health and well being of performers, staff, and spectators.
With this announcement, we have made the decision to suspend the BYBA National Leagues for the 2020 season and allowances will be made for anyone wishing to compete at National Championships in October. Please contact performance@byba.online or Clive Burd if you require further information on this.
We appreciate that this is very disappointing and not the way that we all wished to start the 2020 season but as highlighted; our priority is the continued health and well being of performers, staff, and spectators.

Any Regional meetings etc scheduled through the Association will still take place however these will now be arranged virtually until further notice. Detail of how to attend these will follow shortly, BYBA is looking to also arrange training webinars to allow people to still participate in events.

Additional communication will be sent in the coming weeks for future training events and other activities that are being planned in the absence of contests.

Best Regards
BYBA Council
