Following on from the Northern Region AGM, held on Friday 12th November, BYBA are pleased to welcome Emma Arnett to the role of Northern Region Secretary.
Emma has been involved in the marching world since 2011, when she joined Revolution. Initially a trumpet player, Emma then progressed to the colourguard section, where she would spend many years honing her skills and developing as a performer.
This development saw Emma appointed as the head drum major for Revolution's back-to-back BYBA Premier Class titles in 2017 and 2018, the former also seeing her win Revolution's Musician of the Year award. Emma also began teaching the colourguard at Revolution's junior corps.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Emma has also been a member of the BYBA Communications team. You may have seen her at the Band is Back! event in September, where she was part of the photography team. You have also probably seen one of the many graphics she has helped to create for the BYBA social media sites.
Outside of banding, Emma is in her final year of a Textiles degree at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). She also works for the NHS.
All at BYBA would like to congratulate Emma on her appointment, which sees her join Wally Hemmingway (Chair). The region is still looking for a treasurer; if you would like to join the team, please get in touch!
